During the course, you will explore important societal issues that can be better understood knowing some concepts in chemistry. You are expected to have an interest in understanding the nature of science, but not necessarily to have any formal training in the sciences. CHEM 1 is designed for students who want to gain a better appreciation of chemistry and how it applies to everyone's everyday life. Students who have received credit for CHEM 3, 101, 130, or 110 may not schedule this course.
